Researching is a characteristic of a genealogist. When we go back in time, or if we are a distance from our family roots, it is often very difficult to find the details that we wish to complete a story or complete a tree. It compares to a police investigation. Our aim is not to teach a course in genealogy, but to solicit your help to resolve certain mysteries. Investigators, please help, your clues are much appreciated but sadly, neither the price nor the proof are available. Thank you!

Researcher Suzette Leclair (#207) has resolved one of our brick walls. Jean-Baptiste married, in a second marriage, Philimène Denis and it indicates that he is the son of age of majority of deceased Florence Bourgeois of Contrecoeur. His marriage with Sélina Masson has not been found yet, but this information proves that he is the son of Louis Leclair and Florence Bourgeois who were married June 6, 1815 at St-Antoine on the Richelieu. We are looking for the location, marriage date and the parents of Joseph Leclerc and Angélina Trépanier. They married about 1908. Their daughter, Corinne, married on July 8, 1933 at Saint-Tite, their sons - Henri on June 15, 1920 at Shawinigan and Valmore, July 8 at Saint-Tite de Champlain. This request is from Diane (#236)
Angélina Trépanier is the daughter of Joseph Trépanier and Elmire Levreau-dit-De Langis. She was born September 21, 1860 at St-Tite, Champlain County, Quebec. (source: Drouin #2525a0969 St-Tite). In the parish register of St-Tite, on September 16, 1907, we found the death of Angélina Trépanier, wife of Joseph Leclair. Witnesses to the burial were Joseph Trépanier, as well as Joseph Le Clair and Adolphe De Langis who both signed. (source: Drouin # 2526a1324 St-Tite).
Joseph Le Clair, widower of Angélina Trépanier, wed, in a 2nd marriage, Aurélie L'Heureux, daughter of David and Aurélie Lafontaine (both deceased) on Feburary 14, 1908 at St-Tite, Champlain County, Quebec. Both spouses signed. (source: Drouin #2526a1347 St-Tite) A further search of the St-Tite registers showed no trace of the marriage of Joseph Leclair and Angélina Trépanier; also, all the baptisms of the children of this couple show only the family of Angélina as godparents. Joseph does not seem to have any family in St-Tite. At the baptism of his son, Valmor, on January 27, 1887, the father is noted as Joseph Philias. He always signed Joseph Le Clair. Thank you, Suzette (#207) for this reply.
