President from 2006 to 2008
An article in Le Clairon, Volume 3, number 2, page 3, Summer-Autumn 2006
Hello to all Leclercs ,
The revival of the Leclerc Family Association was initiated by Jean-Robert Leclerc who had us gather for the first meeting at Aventure Leclerc in Saint-Augustin. A provisional committee was formed and the Association was officially reborn in August of 2003, at Saint-Pierre on Île d'Orléans. Jean-Robert accepted the presidency and shared, with the Board of Directors, the establishment and the development in the course of the next three years. Deciding that he had successfully completed the goals that he has set for himself, he informed us of his desire to pass the torch. In spite of the total support of all the members present at the General Assembly of August 20, 2006, he asked that we accept his decision.
But who would take over? We needed to continue, as the personnel and financial guidance of our president allowed us to establish a solid base over the last three years.
I accepted, for the interim, in the hope that another Leclerc would continue in the near future. I thank the members of the Board of Directors that nominated me. The challenge is great. There is much to do: increase the membership, develop regional committees, publication of the magazine "Le Clairon", the genealogy, etc.
I count on the support of all to assist in the completion of the tasks that the Board will decide to put before us. All the Leclerc members should feel involved in this approach, meet with as many Leclercs as possible and respond to the needs required for a dynamic and lively association.
A warm and heartfelt thanks to Jean-Robert for his exceptional contribution to the revival of the association, as well as to the members of his family, Jacques, Nicolas and Jean François. Thanks to them, the revival will prove to be a success with the co-operation of the Board of Directors who must follow with the same conviction and the same dynamism.
Georges Leclerc, president
